Have you ever had to do anything that makes you appreciate something more than you ever did before. In the past year or two, I have started some things more than I used to. It wasn't that I didn't already appreciate them, but it has just grown on me.
1. Remembrance day
I though I would start with this one because Remembrance Sunday is tomorrow. Over the past few years, I ave appreciated why we are thanking those who have fought for us. I heard something the other day that made me think about it. This person said "On Remembrance Sunday, I sit next to people in the forces who do not know my name but they are still fighting for my life." That is so true, for all of us, and some people forget that and they shouldn't.
2. Cancer charities and cancer sufferers
Since my Grandad died, I have respected cancer sufferers, survivors and fighters a lot more. They are going through an ordeal that me and you may not be able to comprehend, but they do it everyday and because of that, I respect you.
3. Teachers
This is a weird one. Recently, since becoming the oldest in the school, I have realised how much teachers do for us. They take their time to mark all of our work, go over things that they already know, to teach us and they do more than just teach us in school. They take time out of their schedule to help us after school, with extra curricular activities and parents evenings etc. They are amazing and I appreciate it.

Bonfire Night and Movember
I love Bonfire Night. It's a day of happiness and sparklers, lights and friendly flashes in the sky. It is special because it is so pretty. It is comforting and warm, like a blanket that you have wrapped yourself up in. It is like a hug from that person that you need a hug from the most, even though you know they may not ever give you one.
5th November is a special day for my family because it is the birthday of my Grandad. He died 2 years this December, of prostate cancer. I miss him so much but I am glad his suffering has ended.
November is a very special month because it is Movember. This month is in aid of Prostate cancer, which is the 2nd most serious type of cancer and the 2nd most common cancer killer. So this month is your month to donate. My dad is growing a 'tache and although I do not like it, I am proud of him for doing it.
Do it for everyone. Because everyone knows at east one person who has suffered or is suffering from cancer.

My life is one big 'lol' | Collab with Another Ranting Reader
My life is one big LOL. I fall over thin air and stumble over the simplest of sentences. I make a fool of myself in front of anyone who I really really don’t want to be seen as a fool by. I laugh at most things, loudly and unashamedly. But then again it won’t take much for heavy tear droplets to start cascading down my face.
I am a klutz - for sure I am. But that shouldn’t be all I am. I shouldn’t let that simple fact consume my very being. I have much more to live for than knowing that I’ll probably trip over as I walk up the stairs or whack my side on the same bit of table every time I walk past it.
I shouldn't let the knowledge that I am going to fall over or bash myself take over my abilities because there is much more to me than that. I am taller, stronger, more able than that. I have weaknesses, of course, which is why everyday, we say the word 'lol' about our life when we do something wrong, but inside, a lot of the time, we are crumpling inside, but others don't know.
And that is when confidence comes into it. If we are confident, we brush it under the carpet, pretend it is okay and move on. If we are less confident, we may think differently. If we do something wrong, we hide in a red faced heap in our arms, cry, maybe.
But you can overcome that. You just have to know how. Some are lucky, some are not. But by saying that your life is one big 'lol', you are hiding things about you. Don't hide yourself, be yourself. Because you are more than that. You are much more than that.
