February Sum-Up

What a month! February has always been a month where a lot of things have happened and this year was no different. I have had such a good month, with a trip to Nice and West Side Story and here I am to tell you all about it!

Favourite Songs?
There have been a few songs this year that have been stuck in y head this month. Firstly, The Hills and In The Night by The Weeknd have been two of my favourites, after they popped up in my discover weekly on Spotify. Also, I have reinvested my love in Grace Kelly by MIKA, which has always been my favourite song because I have always been very interested in Grace Kelly and I was fortunate enough to go and pay my respects to her in Nice, which was an honour. Thirdly I have been loving Your Daddy's Son, which is a sad song but I love it so much!

Favourite People?
My friends Maisie and Jemima have been two people who I have loved this month. They have helped me get through a lot and for that, I thank them. To follow on from that, I have suddenly become very inspired by people like Emma Watson and Kate Winslet. There are a lot of great actors out there but they have put themselves in front of others and haven't just acted well, but spoken out about so many things, like feminism. Also, Kate Winslet is the youngest person to be awarded 6 academy awards, with 7 nominations.

Favourite Makeup?
Recently, I bought a Rimmel London Moisture Renew Lipstick in the shade In Love with Ginger. I bought it for a party and it goes exactly with my orange dress that I wore. Also, when I was in London, I bought a Collection Speedy Highlighter as I had just tried out the Kiko highlighter and it was too much at the time, so I bought this and it seems to do the trick!

Favourite Drink?
My favourite drink, as always, has been tea. Especially Lady Grey. I have been drinking at least two cups of Lady Grey a day, in the afternoon. It is not a mistake, it is a love!

Favourite Picture?
I can't choose just one! Here are a few of my favourites this month:

How was your February?

My Top 5 West Side Story Songs

As you may know, I was in the pit band for our school production of West Side Story this year. I have had so much fun and obviously, I have learned most of the songs because I have to play them. I thought that I would give you an insight into my week by giving you my 5 favourite songs of the play, along with a bit of background information.

5. Gee, Officer Krupke
This song is very hard to play but it is so upbeat and funny to watch. It is all about the gang who have problems of their own but always get chucked off of the streets and have nowhere to go as a gang. The dance that goes along with it is so funny and the choice of characters for it was perfect.

4. Tonight Quintet
This song always makes me feel happy because, in the school version, it has all of my favourite people in. It is a very powerful song. It is set out so well and there are so many parts to it!

3. A Boy Like That and I Have A Love
In the play, this song is sung by Maria and Anita. Anita is telling Maria to stop being an idiot and stop seeing Tony. It is a beautiful song and the harmonies at the end are incredible.

2. Dance at the Gym + Mambo
These songs are so upbeat and the dances for this are so good! I love it when you get to shout "MAMBO" in the middle of the phrase!

1. America
Obviously, this song had to be included. It is a massive number and is one of the most well-known songs from West Side Story, if not the most well known. It's such a sassy song and it is so catchy The dances are so well choreographed as well!

I hope this gave you an idea of some of my favourite West Side Story songs and maybe even give you something to listen to!

Stay happy,

February Playlist

I am doing so many exciting things this month and obviously, I cannot do them without some music to help me through!
This is my playlist for this month! Enjoy!

Inspirational Sittings

Do you ever sit down with your laptop on your lap or on the table in front of you and you suddenly have a moment of inspiration.

This could have been from something that you had watched, like a video with some amazing music, or listening to a playlist that you haven't heard before, discovering some music which makes your heart ever so slightly more joyful because it is so kick-ass that you feel like walking down a street and showing everyone how amazing your life actually is?

I get this every now and then and it makes me really happy. I get that little feeling of happiness in my heart which warms me and makes me feel really good about myself.

When I am feeling down and I want that inspirational moment, I listen to something which is amazing. At the moment, it is the Love Actually soundtrack because it is absolutely amazing. It is a lovely mixture of sad songs, happy songs, Christmas songs and pop songs which fits perfectly with my every mood.

It is almost like that feeling when you come home and you get nice and cosy and you just want to make some warm gingerbread and eat it in front of the fire whilst reading a good novel or flicking through Pinterest (which is me most days to be honest!)

Have you ever had an inspirational sitting?

Stay happy,

My Favourite Songs - Christmas 2015 Edition

Christmas songs are the best type of songs and this year has been extra brilliant for them. We have had some new ones and also we have rediscovered the old ones. Here is my top 5 songs this December!

5. It's Beginning To Look A Lot Like Christmas - Michael Bublé
I love this song because it is exactly what I am thinking. It is beginning to look a lot like Christmas! I love this version as well because there is nothing better than a good bit of Michael Bublé!

4. Santa Tell Me - Ariana Grande
This song is so festive and I love Ariana's voice so her doing a Christmas song is perfect! It is such a nice song as well!

3. I'll Be Home - Meghan Trainor
I love this song. It is a great modern take on a Christmas classic and it is so Christmassy that on a rainy night, it is really nice to sing along to!

2. Home For Christmas - Maria Mena
I heard this song the other day on a playlist someone else had created on Spotify and I automatically fell in love. It is such a nice song and it is really calming which is something that I want at Christmas time in the evening when I am wrapping presents and spending time with family.

1. Christmas Lights - Coldplay
I love this song because I love Coldplay and it is so nice. Like number 2, it is calming and nice to sit and listen to whilst I am doing other things or writing blog posts!
