New Years Resolutions

Hi, everybody!
Like every year, I have made some new years resolutions that I will (hopefully) stand by throughout 2016! My motivation usually lasts until about February but we can try! This is the first year I have actually written them down so next December I can read them and see whether I have completed my goals!

Be more organised!

I say this a lot and every now and then, I have a sudden urge to organise things, which is nice at the time, but slowly grows into boredom, which means that the whole organisational thing goes downhill quite rapidly!

Complete my 2016 goal on Goodreads!

My goal for 2016 will be 35 books because I tend to do a lot of rereading, but I need to start reading new books because otherwise I go round and round reading the Hunger Games, Harry Potter and The Divergent series, which isn't a bad thing, but I do need to start culturing myself more!

Keep my enthusiasm for music

This year has been a bumpy ride in terms of my musical enjoyment, but I know that I really do love music and my dream really is to be a music teacher. In order to do that, I need to keep the enthusiasm that I currently have. It has wavered a bit because of stress and disagreements, but music is always there for you and I know that, so I need to keep being its friend because it is good to me!

Have the best summer holiday ever!

This year is GCSEs, which isn't brilliant, but I know that after them, I have an 8-9 week holiday! I have talked to people and they have said that the summer in front of me is the best one that they ever had, and I need to grasp that with both hands. Because I probably won't be able to do NCS, I will probably get a job or some work experience, which should be fun!

Paint my nails more often

I love having freshly painted nails, but I don't do it enough, which annoys me! I also need to explore more colours because I am still not sure whether I suit yellow of now!

REVISE!

This is a must, but I must start to be more motivated than I am at the moment because otherwise I am not going to get where I want to be. The teaching world is competitive, but I want to beat it, which means getting good grades!

Blog more and start videos

Recently, I have discovered more and more blogs that are using videos in their posts. I think this has a really good effect and I would love you do it myself!

Birthday Presents

I seem to have an ongoing problem with buying people Birthday presents. I know it is their birthday, most of the time, but I have an inability to buy them anything good or at all! This year, I am going to be good and I am going to buy those I love birthday presents because it is a nice thing to do and when I forget, I feel so bad because I do love them, I just forget!

What are your resolutions?

Stay happy and Happy New Year!

Inspirational Sittings

Do you ever sit down with your laptop on your lap or on the table in front of you and you suddenly have a moment of inspiration.

This could have been from something that you had watched, like a video with some amazing music, or listening to a playlist that you haven't heard before, discovering some music which makes your heart ever so slightly more joyful because it is so kick-ass that you feel like walking down a street and showing everyone how amazing your life actually is?

I get this every now and then and it makes me really happy. I get that little feeling of happiness in my heart which warms me and makes me feel really good about myself.

When I am feeling down and I want that inspirational moment, I listen to something which is amazing. At the moment, it is the Love Actually soundtrack because it is absolutely amazing. It is a lovely mixture of sad songs, happy songs, Christmas songs and pop songs which fits perfectly with my every mood.

It is almost like that feeling when you come home and you get nice and cosy and you just want to make some warm gingerbread and eat it in front of the fire whilst reading a good novel or flicking through Pinterest (which is me most days to be honest!)

Have you ever had an inspirational sitting?

Stay happy,

Christmas 2015: Get Ready With Me

It is that time of year where we all want to look our best on the big day. I am going to show you how I will be getting ready on Christmas day this year. You will see my make-up routine as well as a few extra bits! Enjoy!

So firstly, I will use my Lancome cleanser, which I just layer onto my face. This leaves my face smooth and ready to moisturise. I will then go ahead with my Garnier moisturiser. I especially apply this to my eyes, forehead and nose, because that is where I get the driest patches.

After I have washed my face, I will brush my hair with my tangle teaser and put it in a hair grip to get it out of my face.

I start with my Rimmel BB cream, which has a light/medium coverage because I don't want to feel caked in make-up today. I apply that all over my face and then either use my hands or a brush to blend that in.
Then, I will apply my Rimmel Wake Me Up concealer under my eyes and on any spots that need covering. This doesn't work so well on spots but it does the job when I look like I am sleepwalking! I might apply some powder usually, but today I am not because it is the wrong shade for my skin right now!

After that, I will go onto my eyes. I use my Clinique eye shadow quad and use the pink shade all over my eyelid and the light silvery one on the corners to make my eyes look bigger and brighter. I will apply some of my Maybelline Lash Sensation mascara onto my lashes for extra volume.

I will then do my eyebrows. I use the darkest shade in my Clinique quad and I use an angled brush to fill in my eyebrows. I keep this in place with the Rimmel Brow This Way in the shade medium brown. I then apply a it of my concealer to highlight my brow bones.

I then just used a nude/pink lipgloss. This time I used the Tanya Burr lip gloss in Picnic in the Park, which is gorgeous!

Then I go onto my hair. I generally just put it up into a ponytail, so that is what I will probably do on Christmas Day. Alternatively, I might have it down, which is what I have done now.

On my nails, I used the Barry M nail paint in 273 Raspberry and topped it with the Technic Ruby Slippers Nailwear, which made my nails nice and glittery!

And that is the finished look!

I hope your Christmas is amazing and I hope this gave you a good idea of what I will be wearing on my face this year!

Stay happy and Merry Christmas,

My Favourite Songs - Christmas 2015 Edition

Christmas songs are the best type of songs and this year has been extra brilliant for them. We have had some new ones and also we have rediscovered the old ones. Here is my top 5 songs this December!

5. It's Beginning To Look A Lot Like Christmas - Michael Bublé
I love this song because it is exactly what I am thinking. It is beginning to look a lot like Christmas! I love this version as well because there is nothing better than a good bit of Michael Bublé!

4. Santa Tell Me - Ariana Grande
This song is so festive and I love Ariana's voice so her doing a Christmas song is perfect! It is such a nice song as well!

3. I'll Be Home - Meghan Trainor
I love this song. It is a great modern take on a Christmas classic and it is so Christmassy that on a rainy night, it is really nice to sing along to!

2. Home For Christmas - Maria Mena
I heard this song the other day on a playlist someone else had created on Spotify and I automatically fell in love. It is such a nice song and it is really calming which is something that I want at Christmas time in the evening when I am wrapping presents and spending time with family.

1. Christmas Lights - Coldplay
I love this song because I love Coldplay and it is so nice. Like number 2, it is calming and nice to sit and listen to whilst I am doing other things or writing blog posts!

Stay Happy,

The True Meaning of Christmas

With only 5 days left until the big day, people are panicking about whether they have enough food to feed the 500, hoping they got the right sized jumper for Granny, aimlessly walking around shops, wishing they had an extra £5 to spend on that gift set that you have always wanted to get for that special person.

But why panic? I spoke to a friend the other day and they told me that they aren't panicking, because as long as they have something for feed that friend that pops in for a cuppa and as long as you have a nice time, nothing else should matter. You have what you have and you shouldn't worry about whether your present is going to be good or not, because people shouldn't judge you by your presents. They should be glad to have you there.

Christmas should be about family and love, but through the years, shop advertisements and peoples perceptions have changed and we now think that Christmas is about presents and who got the most expensive thing.

People who have family are lucky and we should cherish that. Stop wanting and maybe, start giving this Christmas.

Stay happy,
Katie xx
